Monique Bellan becomes head librarian at the OIB
We are happy to share that Monique Bellan, who was a postdoctoral researcher with LAWHA from March 2021 to March 2025, took up the position of head librarian at the Orient-Institut Beirut (OIB) on 1 October 2025. Within LAWHA, she focused on exhibition practices, art critique and the database and digital platform (DDP). In her new position, she will build up on her interest in digital humanities and archiving.
The library of the OIB is a research and reference library within the broader field of Near and Middle Eastern Studies. It provides a collection of books, journals and newspapers that comprises more than 140.000 volumes and in addition more than 100.000 electronic resources (Ebooks, journals and databases) that are accessible within the OIB network to facilitate research.
